Crockpot Honey Buffalo Wings
The go-to recipe for party wings that can be on any event table
Equipment
- Crockpot or Slow Cooker
Ingredients
- 5 lbs Party wing sections
Spice Rub
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar
- 1 tsp salt, kosher
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp Granulated garlic or garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsp Granulated onion or onion powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Chili powder
- 1 tsp Dried parsley
Honey Buffalo Sauce
- 1 cup Hot Sauce Franks Original Sauce is great for this recipe
- 1/2 cup Honey
- 1 tbsp Butter, melted
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch To Thicken sauce towards the end
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, add rub ingredients and stir to combine.
- Spray crockpot/slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray or use a slow cooker bag and add chicken wings.
- Sprinkle rub all over and use hands to massage the rub into all the chicken wings.
- Add sauce ingredients to mixing bowl and whisk to combine well. Pour sauce over wings and toss to coat.
- Cover crockpot/slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 2 hours, or on LOW for 3-4 hours.
For Sticky Glaze
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, then place an oven safe wire cooling rack on top. Place cooked wings on the cooling rack.
- Set oven to broil.
- Pour sauce from the slow cooker into a saucepan.
- Add 2 Tbsp cornstarch and 2 Tbsp of water to a small bowl and whisk to combine well, then pour into sauce and whisk.
- Cook over MED-HIGH heat until boiling, then reduce heat to LOW and whisk as it simmers. Simmer for 5-8 minutes, or until thickened to desired consistency.Â
- Brush wings with sauce, then broil in the oven for 3 minutes, until the sauce caramelizes a little. Â Brush with more glaze and broil another 2 minutes. Repeat one more time.
